Dr. Richard Harper, DO
Dr. Richard Harper grew up in Southeast Idaho and returned in 2004 to open Upper Valley Family Medicine alongside Dr. Adams. Dr. Harper received his Associate Degree from Ricks College and his Bachelor of Science Degree from Idaho State University in 1997. He received his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from Des Moines University in 2001. He completed his Family Practice Residency through the University of Iowa - Broadlawns Medical Center where he served as Chief Resident. He is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine since 2004. He has never regretted returning to his home state of Idaho.
Dr. Harper is very active in the community and is currently serving as Medical Director of the Central Fire District for Jefferson County.
Dr. Harper enjoys the full spectrum of Family Medicine, caring for newborn babies to geriatrics. He wants to help his patients become healthier through focusing on lifestyle modifications and overall wellness. He enjoys building a relationship with his patients and ongoing continuity of care.
In his free-time he loves to spend time with his amazing wife and family, cook fantastic food, play in the mountains, fish any lake he can, and seeking fresh powder to ride his snowmobile.
